BIOGRAPHY

日本人の父と中国人の母を持ち、日本語、中国語、英語を使い熟すトライリンガル。

1995年に日本で生まれ、2003年からは中国で育つ。
幼い頃から音楽好きで、7歳の時両親の勧めで二胡を始める。
それを機にどんどん音楽へのめり込んでいき、12歳からはピアノも始めクラシック音楽に興味を持つ。

2011年、プロの音楽家を志し、上海音楽学院附属高等学校に二胡演奏専攻で入学。
演奏、楽典、ソルフェジオ、和声学など、本格的な音楽の勉強に没頭する。
声楽家であり教育家の周筱燕（シュウ・シャオイェン）に師事しボーカルトレーニングも開始する。
在学期間中、多くの舞台やコンクールに出場し自らのパフォーマンス技術を高めていく。

2014年、上海音楽学院音楽工程学科へ入学。古典的な作曲技法や、DTMの基礎知識を学ぶ。

2017年、渡米。
Full Sail Universityで本場の音楽制作を学び始める。在学期間中、サウンドトラック制作に興味を持ち、独学でオーケストレーションを勉強し多くの学生映像作品の音楽を担当した。卒業後には、同校のFilm Dubbing Stageでインターンをし映画サウンドポストプロダクションを学ぶ。インターン期間中、2020年に上映された、Aaron B. Koontz監督映画作品＜The Pale Door＞のサウンドエディットを担当した。
同年、作編曲をした中国のアパレルブランドMetersbonweのウェブCM＜Rich Brian不走尋常路＞は、当地のSNS Weiboで130万回以上再生されている。

現在、ポップスからクラシックまで様々なジャンルのプロダクションを手がけると共に、流暢に操る日本語、英語、そのボーカル力が高く評価され、仮歌やコーラスなどの依頼も多数受ける。

Having a Japanese father and Chinese mother, YASU is a trilingual (Japanese, Chinese and English) singer/songwriter/arranger, based in Tokyo.

He was born in Tokyo in 1995 and grow up in China from 2003. He has loved music since he was very young and started playing erhu at the age of 7 at the recommendation of his parents. Becoming immersed in music more and more, he started playing piano at the age of 12 which led him to become interested in classical music as well.

In 2011, with a desire to pursue a career as a professional musician, YASU entered The Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music majoring in erhu. He immersed himself in studying and performing music, musical grammar, Solfeggio, and harmonics. He started vocal training under Xiaoyan Zhou, a vocalist and educator. YASU improved his performance skills by participating in various live performances and competitions during school.

In 2014, he entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music majoring in music production and engineering and studied classical composition.

In 2017, YASU moved to the US to further his study of music production at Full Sail University in Florida. He became interested in soundtrack production and studied orchestration on his own. He worked on many student film soundtracks and after graduating, he interned at the Film Dubbing Stage in Full Sail University and learned movie sound postproduction. In 2020, during his internship, he did the sound editing for the movie, “The Pale Door (2020)” directed by Aaron B. Koontz. Later in the year, he composed and arranged the music for “Rich Brian – Be Different,” the web commercial for the Chinese apparel brand Metersbonwe. The web commercial has been viewed more than 1.3 million times on Weibo.

Currently, he’s been producing various genres of music from pop to classical. Meanwhile, YASU’s fluent vocal skills in Japanese and English are highly acclaimed and he has been getting many offers for demo and background vocal work.
