Bedroom CinemasはNYUでクラスメイトだったKenjiとChrisによるプロダクションデュオである。Master’s Degree in Music Technologyを学んでいた2人は大学内にあるJames Dolan Recording Studioでエンジニアとして働いていた。当時互いに存在は知りながらも音楽の方向性が違うことで親しくなることはなかったが、コロナ禍でスタジオワークが減る中、Chrisから声を掛け一緒に楽曲制作を始めると意気投合。お互いを尊重しながらも相反する2人から生み出される音楽は絶妙な融合である。

Kenji Hirotomi

東京都出身。
親の転勤の為、幼少期の10年間を北京で過ごし現在はニューヨーク在住。
日本語、英語、中国語を話す。
Bedroom Cinemasと並行して自身もLudenというアーティスト名で活動をしておりMelodic HouseやOrganic Houseなどの楽曲を配信リリースしている。また教師としても高校や音楽学校で楽曲制作や音楽理論などを教えるなど活動は多岐に渡る。
思わず体を揺らしたくなるような心地よいグルーヴを得意とし、枠に囚われないリリックは一度聴いたらハマってしまう。

Chris Ding

内モンゴル自治区出身。現在は北京在住。
NYUを卒業後、中国のIT企業に就職し人工知能音楽のアルゴリズムプログラミングや研究の仕事に就く。その間も音楽制作は続けていたが、一年後自分の音楽に集中する為退社。 自身もアーティストとして活動をする中、中国のアーティストにも楽曲提供を行う。
Dance、K-pop、Future Bass、R＆B、Discoなどを得意とし、アーティストのボーカルスタイルをイメージした相性の良いトップラインを常に心掛けているが、そこにChrisの抜群なボーカルセンスが加味され唯一無二のスタイルを作り出している。

Bedroom Cinemas
Bedroom Cinemas is a production duo formed by Kenji Hirotomi and Chris Ding who were classmates both pursuing master’s degrees in music technology at NYU and working as engineers at James Dolan Recording Studio in the university. During their studies, they were acquainted but not very close due to their differences in musical direction. However, when studio work decreased due to the pandemic, Chris suggested to Kenji that they produce music together and from then on, they hit it off. With mutual respect and healthy conflict, the two have superb musical chemistry.

Kenji Hirotomi

Currently based in New York City, Kenji was born in Tokyo but due to his parent’s work, he lived in Beijing for much of his youth. He is multilingual and able to speak Japanese, English and Chinese. Along with Bedroom Cinema, he is active as an artist going by the name, Luden, digitally releasing melodic and organic house music. He also teaches music production and music theory in high school and music school. His groovy tracks make your body move and when you hear his outside-the-box lyrics, you’ll be hooked.

Chris Ding
Songwriter & Trackmaker & Producer
Chris is from Inner Mongolia and currently based in Beijing. After graduating NYU, he got a job with a Chinese IT company researching and programing algorithms for AI music while continuing his own music production. After a year, he quit that job to focus on his music. In addition to working as an artist himself, he started creating music for Chinese artists. He excels at various types of music such as, dance, K-Pop, future bass, R＆B and disco. He always aspires to write toplines that will fit well with an artist’s vocal style, but with Chris’ gift as a distinguished vocalist, he is capable of creating unique styles as well.
