大阪府出身。
幼少期から幅広いジャンルの音楽が身近にある環境で育ち、14歳で初めてギターを手に取りその魅力にやられる。高校生になるとボーカル兼ギターとしてバンド活動に勤しむ。その頃から作詞作曲をするようになり、歌を作る面白さを知る。自分の音楽活動を続けていく中で、自分じゃない他の人が歌う曲の作詞や作曲をすることに興味を持ち、作家としても歩み始めた。

2022年6月22日にリリースされたJ-JUN with XIA(JUNSU)の「六等星」で作詞家としてデビューを果たす。
奏でるメロディーは大胆かつ躍動感溢れるものだが、柔軟な視点で描かれた暖かくまっすぐな歌詞は繊細で聴く人の琴線に触れる。
消耗されていく音楽が増える一方で、花房遊の生み出す音楽は誰かの心に確実に残されて行くだろう。

Born in Osaka, Yu grew up in an environment where he was exposed to a wide range of music genres, and at the age of 14, he picked up a guitar for the first time and was fascinated by its charms. In high school, he became active in a band as a vocalist and guitarist. Around that time, he began to write songs and discovered the joy of songwriting. As he continued his own musical activities, he became interested in writing lyrics and composing songs for other people to sing and began to work as a songwriter as well.

He made his debut as a lyricist with the song “Rokutousei” by J-JUN with XIA (JUNSU), released on June 22, 2022.
Yu’s melodies are bold and dynamic, but the warm and straightforward lyrics, drawn from his flexible perspective are delicate and touch the heartstrings of the listener. Surely as more and more music continues to be consumed, the music Yu Hanabusa creates will remain in people’s heart.
